Bank of Baroda statement to Excel
Bank of Baroda statements use bold upper-case headings such as WITHDRAWAL(DR) and DEPOSIT(CR), and the bank's internet banking offers more than one download format. Here is when to use the bank's own export, and how to convert the PDF when that is all you have.
Convert your Bank of Baroda statement
Private by design: your PDF is read by your own browser. It is never uploaded, and nothing is stored on a server. The password, if you type one, is used once to open the file and then forgotten.
Text-based PDF, up to 25 MB and 300 pages. On a computer you can also drop the file here.
Reading…
Always compare the converted file with your original statement before using it for tax filing, loans or audits. The converted file is not an official bank document.
How to download your Bank of Baroda statement
Bank of Baroda's guide and its internet banking help file describe a "Generate Account Statement" option.
- Sign in to Bank of Baroda internet banking from the official site.
- Find Generate Account Statement in the accounts area.
- Choose the account and the period.
- Choose the file type. Bank of Baroda's guide lists Excel, PDF and TXT.
Pick Excel if you can sign in and only need the numbers: it is the bank's own export. TXT is a plain-text dump that Excel can import with its text import wizard. Use this converter when you only have a PDF, for example one received from someone else.
How we read a Bank of Baroda statement
Bank of Baroda PDFs commonly print headings in capitals, like this:
| Column in the PDF | Column in your spreadsheet |
|---|---|
| DATE | Date |
| NARRATION | Description |
| CHQ.NO. | Reference |
| WITHDRAWAL(DR) | Debit |
| DEPOSIT(CR) | Credit |
| BALANCE(INR) | Balance |
- Headings are matched without regard to capitals or punctuation, so WITHDRAWAL(DR) is read the same as "Withdrawal (Dr)".
- Dates written as 01-09-2026 or 01/09/2026 are read day first.
- An OPENING BALANCE line becomes the starting point of the balance check.
- Narrations in capitals are kept exactly as printed.
Common problems
The PDF needs a password
If your statement is protected, the password comes from Bank of Baroda. The email or the bank's help page explains it. Type it in the box that appears; it is not stored.
Should I use the TXT download instead?
If you can sign in, Excel from the bank is easiest. TXT also works in Excel through the text import wizard. This tool reads PDFs only.
A long statement looks slow on my phone
Every page is read and checked in your browser, so a statement of many pages takes longer on an older phone. A computer handles long files faster, and nothing is uploaded either way.
Numbers came out as text in Excel
Use the Excel download rather than opening the CSV by double-click; the Excel file stores amounts as real numbers.
FAQ
Excel, PDF or TXT: which should I download from the bank?
Excel when you can, PDF when you need a document to keep or share, TXT if your accounting software asks for plain text. Convert a PDF here only when you don't have the other formats.
Can I check the totals?
Yes. The result shows total debits, total credits and the closing balance, and every row is checked against the balance column.
Is my statement stored?
No. It is read in your browser and cleared when you press "Convert another" or close the tab.
